First off, welcome back to all of you who were with us when this league first started. I'm thrilled that so many are still active and excited about being in this league. A few notes before we move forward:
-We are keeping the structure of this league mostly intact. Trades will still require 7 yes/no votes from all owners. There are no mods. We'll run the actual league on ESPN. Teams need to keep and update their roster and transaction threads. There will be a two-round rookie draft starting next year. Waiving a player still requires an owner to pay their entire salary. Free agency bidding math is the same.
-There are a few things that have changed, though. Those are:
1. Free agents can now only be signed for a max of 3 years
2. We will only allow 1 re-sign every 3 years, but the player you re-sign can be signed to a 4-year deal (max)
3. The salary cap is now $90,000,000 and the roster limit has been increased to 11 (with 2 IR spots)
4. The minimum salary on free agents is $1,000,000
5. For a re-sign to pass, an owner needs a simple majority from the league
6. A buyout clause has been added, please check the league rules section for more info
7. The relocation rules have been relaxed
8. The daily lineup has changed from your standard PG-SG-SF-PF-C-UTL-UTL lineup, please check the league rules (team forums) section for more info
And the big change:
We will start the league with a league-wide free agency. Every player, including rookies, will be available. Now, in order to avoid a total free for all, we are going to limit it to 25 active bids at a time. So once we hit 25 active auctions, a new player can't go up until one comes off.
If we can get the rest of this league filled, and everyone can have their roster and transaction threads posted (this is KEY), by September 15th, we will start free agency on SEPTEMBER 20TH. That gives us 4 days to fill the league, and 5 days to prep. This will also require everyone to join the ESPN part of the site, and I will get invites out today so check your emails.
If there are any questions, please let me know!
