Out of curiosity I just logged in to check. This shits a blood bath. No thanks. Do people have that much cap space?!? Thing is, there are so many players on the board right now, that 99% of the current bids are reasonable. The problem is that Portland is just sitting there with nearly $60 mil in space, and he hasn't bid on anyone yet. These prices are going to go up.

Unless Portland plans to hoard cap space for trade flexability.

Suggestion for future Free Agency: once a thread is opened for a player to be bid on, managers submit a private bid. And 24 hours later, admin checks all the private bids and announces who won the player.
That way bidding wars for players don't just go on for days and days and days.

That would really only work if we had a commissioner that didn't have a team.

Would require some trust obviously but if there's a way to make it work I think it's far more convenient then the constant bidding.

When a team submits a bid it would be required the title of the message be the players name. And u just don't read those until the 24 period is up for that player

I don't think it's "wearing it down". It would be just as exciting to see the reveal of who won the player. It just eliminates the constant bidding / checking the website.

I'm sure there's a way around it, but I'm too tired right now to figure out what that may be.

Also, you really don't have to constantly check the site. Once you bid on a player, you know he's on the board for another 24 hours. Just remember to check-in at least once the next day.

You just don't read any of the messages for a player until 24 hours after that player was nominated / the thread was created.
