Hi, just a suggestion and I wanted to see how everyone else felt about it.
If a player from your roster is a free agent in the year, once you do the point bidding you get an extra (1pt) as a home town discount.
example Lets say Tony Allen (2015/2016)
I offer : Tony Allen 1,000,000 for 2 years = 2 pts + 1HTD = 3pt bid.
I've had this rule implemented in other leagues and it works out pretty good. What do you guys think?

My personal opinion on this is that Free Agency should be an even playing field. I don't like the idea of being able to apply extra points to a bid for a hometown discount.

It's an interesting idea but I feel it helps out the big markets and teams with superstars already. When the elite players contracts run out, it will make it that much harder for the smaller market teams who don't have those stars today, to have the same fair shot as other teams though.

Theres no such thing as big market , small market. The idea is when a FA leaves your own team. not your NBA partner team

But if I understand your approach to this, players currently on our teams would be eligible for this. As it stands today, most of the superstars are on bigger market teams and so it basically means guys like KD and LeBron are most likely going to stay with their franchise outside of a trade due to always having to pay more as an outsider. I still think it's interesting but I just don't know if it's really needed. Doesn't do anything other than give advantages to certain teams with certain stars.
I guess my main point is, what's the real benefit of adding this? Why does it make the league better? I just can't see what it does as a positive honestly.

The way we designed this league was to create a neutrally competitive environment. The parity in this league will be awesome. I don't like the idea of disrupting that.
It seems like a way you could try and bring a guy back on a cheaper deal, which is basically a re-sign.
