MidWest
Houston Rockets-
Rd.1-Carmelo Anthony- A++
Rd.2- Myles Turner-C+
Rd.3-Michael Carter-Williams-B+
Rd.4- Dennis Schroder-B
Draft Grade- A-
Wow what a draft, With James Harden already on the roster the rockets were able to get a great scorer in Anthony still a top 3 Sf when healthy. Dont know what to think of turner he will get PT with the pacers but how will he turn out. I would of rather seen the Rockets keep Howard and go with someone else with this pick. MCW great pg able to assist and get rebs no 3pt shot but hopefully that comes this season. And Dennis is one of the best backup pg in the NBA could easily start for some other team.Houston is scary good if they can get a couple of guys in FA
GRIZZLIES ROSTER
Rd. 1- Andre Drummond $3,300,000- A+
Rd.2-Chandler Parsons-B+
Rd.3-Kenneth Faried-B
RD.4- TBD
Draft Grade- A+
Looking at this Grizz team i am already peeing myself. Not only do they have Gasol who is a top 3 Center in this league they get another Andre Drummond who is younger and does no have any Competition for rebs and or blks great pickup. Only downsize is the grizz will have to use a resign on Andre. Parsons fits in perfectly with the roster when healthy he does a lil of everything which is something that helps the team. Already with rebs locked the Grizz look to sure it up even more with a young PF in Faried Memphis will be hard to beat in the rebound cat.Even tho they havent picked in RD.4 i can already see in the future and sees this will be another great pick.
Timberwolves
RD. 1 Kemba Walker- B
Rd.2-Tobias Harris- B+
Rd.3-Arron Afflalo-C+
Rd.4 Marcus Smart C+
Draft Grade- C+
Timberwolves Timberwolves Timberwolves, mixture of the good bad and the ugly with this team. Love the two young guys that the wolves decided to keep. Had a lot of options to go with this Franchise even though i like walker its a mystery y the wolves decided to take him. I dont feel walker is worthy of a 1st rd pick, he doesnt have much upside and gives the wolves no sense of direction. Now Harris is wonderful pick for the wolves great new contract great value pick for the wolves. Another head scratcher with Arron Afflalo would of been a better pick if the wolves was trying to win this year. But with the roster they have built during the draft i just dont see it at all. And the ugly comes with Marcus Smart with 5 Pgs already on the boston roster i dont like Smart. I dont think the wolves have any sense of direction and will struggle now and in the future with the supporting cast they have around their number 1picks on the roster.
NEW ORLEANS JAZZ
Rd.1 Reggie Jackson- A
Rd. 2 Nikola Mirotic- B
RD.3 Robert Covington- C-
Rd.4 Jae Crowder- B
Draft Grade- B
The New Jazz. The brow conversations start and end there. Not an Amazing Draft but pretty decent. Reggie Jackson now the starting PG with a GREAT contract. He def put up great numbers to end the season last year. And still so young Jackson and Davis great duo for years. Nikola Mirotic great international player if he gets more mins will be a great pick for the Jazz. Fits there team needs really well i like the pick. Now here where it gets shaky. Robert Covingtion in my opinion was not going to get drafted so idk why Jazz felft the need to draft yes great cheap contract for a long time but doesnt give the jazz what they needed here. I would of like to see the Jazz go all in and pick a more of impact player. They could have actually switch their Rd 3 and Rd 4 players and would of been a better pick. Speaking of crowder wow what a steal such a cheap contract and it goes into the next resigns which is huge. Davis will be and Amazing player for years to come would of like to see the jazz try to win the league this year but hopefully they can pick it up in FA
Thunder
Rd.1 Al Horford-A+
Rd.2 - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-C-
Rd.3-Jerian Grant-C+
Rd.4-Gorgui Dieng-B
Draft Grade- C+
Thunder were def an interesting team. With two of the top 5 players in the NBA already on the Roster the thunder were looking scary before the draft even started. But as the draft went on the Thunder become less and less of a threat. Horford wow what a pick once the league seen the pick most of felt it was over. Horford is an great Center who does everything right and nothing wrong which is great for the team. Now after this pick it goes left real fast with the next pick. Pope was taken in the 2nd rd which is easily the worst pick in the draft and kills the Okc win now mentality. We understand the Thunder had to save money but could of easily taken a Rookie with a decent contract and more upside. Grant was another ify pick. Not as bad as Pope but the Thunder was already in position to make a splash in the first year in the league but grant doesnt give them much as a backup pg to Westbrook. But all is not lost with the Thunder taken Dieng. Had a good year last year but with more competiion this year will be good year for him. And he still has a good contract
Spurs
Rd.1 Emmanuel Mudiay-B
Rd.2 D'Angelo Russell-B+
Rd.3 Brook Lopez-B-
Rd.4 Julius Randle - C+
Draft Grade B-
Spurs come in one of the best teams in terms of upside and talent. The Defense player of the year and a top 5 PF as the keepers makes the Spurs in great postilion. Mudiay comes in as the starting pg for the nuggets with the departure of Lawson which makes the offense his. The spurs had options of more proven Pg but with the contract and upside makes this a great pick. The Spurs wasted no time turning around and getting the 2nd pick in the NBA in Russell most say he will be the most talented in the draft but did not look any good in the summer league actually looking pretty bad but if all plays well the spurs have two young Pgs for the future. Now after the Pgs looks like the Spurs wanted to take players that love being on the IR. Lopez when healthy is a top 10 Center but him being healthy is as common as pornstars not having sex. Then the Spurs took a player who was a rookie last year and literally played 5mins in his first game and then broke his league. With not much competition in front of him we will see what randle can do. Spurs look good IF EVERYTHING GOES AS PLAN but then again nothing ever does.
Will finish the west tomorrow
