Alot of guys were left on the board because they were overpaid. There are more than a handful of players left on the board worth having, but not for the price tag they're earning in the real world. Those with cap space left over will have the best shot at these guys. And maybe some of them still get overpaid, but they'll end up being cheaper than their real world price. I think that's a distinction worth recognizing.

13 and 4 is gonna be available in free agency for cheap, unless other people choose to overpay. I'll pass on Covington's poor percentages and role that will be decreased, no matter how cheap and controllable he is When he was the focal point of the offense then sure, he's up for bad percentages. But when Noel and Okafor are manning the middle together Covington will have the wings wide open for him. And I guarantee you wont get a 13/4 player in free agency for less than $2M. I bet you get one for 500,000 i seen it before that stat line isnt that difficult to get. And to take him in a draft is a no go.

I've got about 10 mil left, which I feel is enough to fill out my roster. Im not interested in getting into a bidding war for any of the mediocre players left. My issue with the pick is the players you left on the board, I agree that KCP did meet your needs but you passed up much better value at that pick, like D'Angelo Russell I didn't want to go with a guy that green. Not when I knew I could come back around and get a guy like Jerian Grant for a fraction of the cost. And I hope this doesn't come off as douchy, because it's not my intent, but good luck filling 6 spots with $10 mil. But unlike most of the other teams on this league, I'm not expecting free agency to fill half of my starting lineup. I can afford to take cheap risks in free agency because I drafted for talent, not cost. It was obviously the less popular method but this is the greatness of a league like this. Everyone can strategize differently and back up why they did what they did, but you never know what'll work until the games start

I was so damn shocked you guys lefft russell and mudiay on the board. You cant beat long contracts with upside in my opinion. Lopez was a must pick in order to take me over the hump. i didnt wanna pay him but it could be worth it

If I had known how people felt about KCP, I would have switched that order haha. Russell... I've already explained that one. On top of grabbing someone like Grant for a fraction of Russell's cost, I just am not a fan. I think he'll be good, but I don't think he'll light the world on fire. Just my opinion.

But unless you plan on starting role players like Winslow and Hollis-Jefferson right away, which doesn't sound like a winning strategy to me, you've put a lot of faith into free agency. Sure these players may end up slightly cheaper, but you'll have a lot of competition to sign them. There's no guarantee that you end up with enough talent to fill your lineup. As the Mavs have proven year after year, money doesn't guarantee big free agents

We're all paying attention enough to know that's a mistake. Plus, no one has THAT much money left.

Covert Ops was safe pick with salary in mind. You know you're getting a guy who will make threes and snag some steals for just $1mil a year. But the downside is you know he's not gonna be a major contributor. So it's just safe. Is that worth a late pick in the expansion draft? Probably

By a show of hands, was ANYONE going to take Brook Lopez other than CV? That was the biggest shocker in my opinion. Guy is making $20 mil for a while after coming off several foot injuries and a benching. I would have taken my chances with a guy like that making it to free agency. And I understand the argument of drafting for talent, but you've got to leave yourself some wiggle room. By the way, I'm not looking to fill half my starting lineup either. Russ-KCP-KD-Horford-Dieng is not a bad starting five

I guess I've just been shocked with how many teams are straight up drafting for talent with little to no regard to salary. That's not how it went in my first league at all.

Korver would've been a better choice if you were looking for a 3 and D sort of player, since he also brings out of this world percentages
