Yeah Burks was a big call - plenty of stats there for him if healthy. Is there anyone else on the Dallas roster? Not really, and that's what I'm worried about with Dirk. I think Dirk is at his best when he has legitimate weapons around him. He's longer playing at a level where he can take on double and triple teams. You make a good case. If it does not work out the second year is an option. Thankfully!!

This year should really test Dirk, since he'll have to be ball dominant, but unless somebody plans on leaving Wes or Parsons open for three, Dirk shouldn't see many double or triple teams. The floor should be spaced well for Dirk and he still has a great inside out game

We're all opinionated owners, so discussions like this happen. I've been holding this back since the start of the draft so I didn't influence any picks, which I figure everyone else did as well. Absolutely. It's great that this is a discussion. This league would be boring if everyone thought the exact same way. Agree!! As long as we all take it in our stride and respond accordingly. We are baiting the line occasionally in jest..

For the record, I like what you've done, Chicago. You've got a really good top-6. My concern is what happens if Lawson has another incident? What happens if Holiday gets hurt again? Or Gasol? How will Deron look in Dallas?
If I were you, and I were looking for the same things, I would have gone:
Round 1: Draymond Round 2: Isaiah Thomas (gives you much of what Jrue does, more in some cats, for $4 mil less) Round 3: MCW (you don't really lose anything compared to Ty, except FG %... maybe threes if Ty takes more in Houston. Save A LOT) Round 4: Robin Lopez or Tyson Chandler (both moderately priced bigs who would help round out the roster)
Just my opinion. I'd love to see people redraft for me. (Please redraft for me)

Literally no one on in the history of the NBA has ever come back from one and been the same player.

It will take Wes at least half the season if not all to produce at the same level prior to the injury. It is no different in any sport. Dallas spent to much imo.

Aw man, no one wants to redraft for me? I liked the Horford pick even though he's expiring. I would have gone with Isiah Thomas over Pope but that's just me. I also liked the Grant and Dieng picks, but that late in the draft it's up for debate.

Covert Ops was safe pick with salary in mind. You know you're getting a guy who will make threes and snag some steals for just $1mil a year. But the downside is you know he's not gonna be a major contributor. So it's just safe. Is that worth a late pick in the expansion draft? Probably But over high potential guys like Lavine, Randle, Grant and Dieng? Absolutely. He's proven more than all of those guys and is under contract for longer or just as long as any of them.

Really enjoying the banter & opinions ... truthful & entertaining! I would prefer to have more cap space remaining but chose to pick Parsons $15M 'excessive' contract to cover the resign of Drummond next year. When you look back at the draft, sure its easy to say you would have drafted differently but hindsight is a wonderful thing ...

(Please redraft for me) I know I took a fair amount of risk with my picks, but if they put it all together, I think my team will be tough to beat, so I decided to take those risks. Other than the KCP pick, I like your draft as well. You managed to acquire low cost long term contracts without reaching, other than with KCP. Grant and Dieng should actually bring good 2016 value at their slots, as well as upside into the future. If I were you, I would've gone with either Isaiah Thomas (who does carry SG eligibility), or Jusuf Nurkic instead of KCP, depending on strategy. Thomas provides better number across the board and Nurkic is cheaper with more control and higher upside. He should emerge as a 12-10-2 guy right away this season, with more room to develop.
